Hi Everyone,
This next video is about focus, focus on one project at a time so that it gets done! Of course, in order to get a project done you need to eliminate distraction. Here are some small tips that I implement every day. It has actually has added an additional six figures a month to our business. They will seem insignificant, but you will soon discover how powerful they are when you implement them in your daily business lives.

Hi Joel,
Great video thanks!
I live and work alone, and yet I still have more than enough distractions throughout the day.
I think you must have read an article that I wrote on the subject of procrastination a few days ago…

It ties in with everything you mentioned in your video.

Joel,
You really hit home with this video. That is one of my biggest problems. I am continually jumping from one thing to the next. Then I end up with nothing done. Chet has also been helping me with trying to focus on one thing at the time and I am getting better.
Keep up the great videos. I for one really like them.

Hey Joel,
I thought it was just me. It is so hard to sit down and deliver pure content into your product. That has been the problem i’ve been dealing with. I realize that I have to sever the communication cord of cell phone, im, email, etc to get some work done. I also written my ideas in a notebook because I was getting scattered brained. I would work 5 to 6 projects at the same time thinking I was being productive only to find out that I’m delaying at least 1 project from being fully completed. I’m going to make some changes in my productivity and I’m 100% sure my income will change. Thanks for showing that again. I guess as entrepreneurs we struggle with our minds constantly to allow us to focus. I know meditation helps to refocus your thoughts. Keep those videos coming. When you have the time that is.
I have to agree focus is so very important. I ask myself two questions: 1) is project or thing that has crossed my plate going to add to what I am doing or 2) is this thing going to be a distraction? You have to be honest especially with your own self. I have to disagree with doing only one thing at a time especially when you are chief cook and bottlewasher in your own business and can’t delegate. Setting alarms has been key for me. A true datum we will fill the time we allow ourselves to get something done, so give yourself just a little less time than you think it will take. This action has improved focus and aided productivity immensly.
Thanks for your time to do this Joel, it means a lot.
Hi Joel.
Thank you for a most inspiring talk. Best I’ve seen to date.
You hit on the head a nail I’ve been trying to knock into my own head these past years and seeing it in front of me made it seem so simple to accomplish.
Well done, Thank you & God Bless.

I agree with you about the power of focusing on just one project at a time.
Regarding the one project that we choose, I liked a lot your insight about the 15 to 30 minutes everyday meditation and I think this can help a lot on deciding and accomplishing those important and profitable tasks to focus on day by day.
Thanks for your advice

Great video with powerfull content
This was helpful and what struck the biggest nerve with me was the part about not being an absolute perfectionist.
You seem like a nice guy and these videos are very humanising in terms of what it feels like to deal with your company.

I have actually created 4 products of my own from scratch. While in the creation process I was entirely focused on creating these products. One of the products was a software project that totally needed the instructions rewritten.
While doing this, I created 4 complete websites – one about 50 pages for myself, and 3 for my partner – 25, 9, and 15 page sites each. At the same time I formatted a word document into a complete Christmas story book – over 100 pages complete with graphics.
While doing this, I was teaching 6 classes a week in HTML etc.
I love to multi-task and that’s how I stay focused on getting things done. I still haven’t made any money from my finished products, mainly because I have no $$ to advertise and promote the products.
I think I learned to do things that way because I was in the Restaurant business for 25 years, and you must multi-task while working to get anything done.
I love your “second office”, Joel. My 5 kids are grown up now, but I would have loved a closet to get away to once in awhile.
All the Best
Claire
I just tuned in to your video on FOCUS and I agree with everything you say. It is fascinating. I thought it was just me not doing it right, but it is inspiring to hear that maybe I am like every one else in this amazingly important issue.
My feeling is that there is room for a whole lot more stuff on this subject to help people out. I would go a lot further than you Joel and say that THE ISSUE in IM is FOCUS – FOCUS – FOCUS and after that it is FOCUS again. Can we pool our approaches to this problem and open up the solutions, because there are more than one.
Great stuff, Keep it up
