Fairwell to Canada – VERY IMPORTANT


 

Hi Everyone!,

We’re almost done our data center migration. Most of our Canadian hosted servers are now in Texas. During this final leg of the race, we’ll have to cover TWO important points

#1: HOTCONFERENCE.COM

Tomorrow, Friday December 12th at 09:00 EST, we will begin migrating HotConference.com and all reseller accounts. Our maintenance window will be from 09:00 to 12:00 EST. We’re
giving ourselves 3 hours to get everything from Canada to the USA with regards to HotConference.com.

This should not affect you, however, if it does, keep in mind that we are currently in a maintenance window and so downtime is to be expected. Though we do not expect any down time, we may need to incur a bit to insure all services are running properly in our new data center in Texas.

That said, this brings us on to our next point…

#2: KIOSK.WS HOSTING

Tomorrow is the ultimate due date for anyone using our DNS servers to mask their own DNS. If you have private DNS servers using our IPs and have NOT changed them, you will experience down time.

Our OLD IPs were:

209.47.167.130
209.47.167.131

To avoid any down time, you should log in to your registrar, where you propagated the DNS and change the IPs.

The NEW IPs you should be using are:

12.68.137.220
12.68.139.126

Again, if you do not change these IPs and you have private DNS servers, your sites will go down. This is a preventative measure only and it is the last warning we can give you.
We’re almost fully done our migration and we’ll be settling in to our new data center over the next month. If you have problems, then let us know via our help desk.

  • Thanks for the “Heads Up” regarding the final DNS churn to TX.

    Sad in some ways to see the old mothership (Canada DC) that served us well go disabled – Farewell Ol’ girl.

    Already noticeable is the full power of the Texas DC 🙂

    Soon time to enjoy a beer guys and the festive spirit of Xmas….

    thanks for the last warning about IP-Changing.
    Unfortunately (we had a family funeral), I´m very late.
    My server has the IP 12.68.137.24 with 50 hotconference rooms.
    How can I change? (´ve got no DNS with this server), or does it not matter?
    Please call me at +49 7431 981550.
    (German Time is Texas plus 5-6 hours).

    (audio video conferencing software was not installed properly Please launch the installation process again)
    am i supposed to do that or just wait until its done? there Is one of my students gets the same error message for all the rooms she has and all of mine too

  • HC – I am a reseller and using private labels. The IP adress I have used so far was: login.ecpresent.net IP 204.92.87.204
    After the move to Texas, shall I change IP? And if so to which one?

  • Congrats to you guys for what seems to be a pretty seamless migration. Having been involved in several software migrations over the years, I know exactly how frustrating and complex this can be. And all I dealt with was software. You guys had the whole magilla. So some serious congratulations are in order. From now on, it’s onward and upward.

  • I was watching the video and Joel said that reselleres will need to update DNS protocols but i didn’t received any information regarding this issue, where can i find it?

    My resellers rooms as my own rooms are not working.

  • Hi Guys, sorry to see you leave Canada,I presume its in all our best interests. In any case, I thought I’d let you know that the help desk system isn’t working,I have posted tickets with no tickets being recorded on the Help site.
    My site is up and running but I have no access to my cpanel, I tried unblocking the ip firewall and just end up with mysql error messages. I know you are all very busy with the Propagation and with the time of the year,would you mind looking into it?
