Have Fun Friday’s – Don’t Try This at Home!

Good Morning Everyone!

Hmmm, it wasn’t the proudest day of my life. In fact, it shows true love from my wife.. because honestly, the stupidity I displayed..

Well..

Ilona, my wife should have left me for good!

You will see why on today’s "Have Fun Friday’s" blog. Please try not to laugh too hard at my expense because it did cost me a pretty penny to "repair" the situation.

I would like to know if you think Ilona, should be mad at me, it was an honest mistake, please post your opinion here on the blog. It will persuade Ilona on her ultimate decision!

Have an amazing weekend!

  • Hi Joel and Mike.
    I’ve been in that hummer…….
    and……..
Good points to remember while I was!
    1) We were on the FREEWAY
    2) And the BIGGIE POINT = Ilona was driving!!!!!
    Need I say more….
I noticed that Armando did a quick turnoff out of the water… Ya just hadda outdo him by driving further.
    tsk tsk tsk.
    Love
    Claire
PS: I think Ilona should forgive Joel.

  • Where’s was the Winch?…lol…Ok so you do s.T.uck!!!…Your wife should give you another Hummer:)

  • hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm, that hummer leaks. In the end,…it was still fun, right? But KIOSK still triumphed!

  • What’s the point in having toys like that if you can’t have fun. 🙂

  • Thanks for share your off road learning experience.

  • Well if it had been my husband I would have given him an earful, been angry at first especially since you had the kids with you BUT after I had calmed down I would have just said “stupid move now what?” hopefully your wife won’t stay angry for too long…love all the comments. Just wondering there was one man on there that looked so familiar? Driving me crazy right now 🙂 about minute 7:01 why does he look familiar?

A couple years ago our friends did the same thing in the snow going up a huge hill got sucked into a mud hole due to melting snow, so actually have been there….

Love the videos, I look forward to Have Fun Fridays, just hope in the future they don’t cost you so much LOL

  • Hi.
It is a great weight has video. Short, but weighs 64mb. This is too much, and the boots are very bad. Joel – make the video smaller in size, faster to boot. It is very important. Not all speed to 2mb or more. Thank you.

  • The difference between men and boys is the cost of their toys!!!!!
Say, it would have been more fun to watch if it wasn’t for the buffering glitches which caused it to jump … and self delay while the buffering caught up.

    Good Luck,
    Dan Lindsey

  • Just goes to prove the only difference between men and boys is the price of there Toys.
No your wife should not leave you but she might want to get you off road driving lessons. lol

  • WOW! I would love to be doing that myself. I think that not only should your wife be glad that you’re not hurt but you are pretty successful. I don’t think she’ll go anywhere. Anyway, continue to have fun and keep shooting awesome videos. Your Software Rocks!!

  • Hi Joel and Mike,
Just quietly, may I suggest you trade in on a hovercraft?
Best your passengers wear helmets too!
Keep trying Joel, 4-wheeling is fun.
    Cheers, Freda

  • HUMMER $60,000.00

    Tow Bill $1,800.00

Having Fun With Friends and Family

    PRICELESS

ps: Do you need a Widget?

  • Wow.. You sure manage to find ways to have fun! We should be happy that you find joy, humor and inspiration that drives your work as well!

  • That was awesome but costly. She was probably just mad because you had the kids with you. I think Ilona should forgive you.

    Kathryn

  • Type your comment here. can understand having fun but even an idiot wouldn’t drive through water !! i think that you wife should forgive you but i am not in her shoes. everybody does something stupid once in awhile. hummers are ok but i would trust a jeep over any hummer !! NEVER GO FOUR WHEELING WITHOUT THE PROPER EQUIPMENT !!!

  • I don’t know what the big deal is, or why your wife should be so mad.

You got stuck, but you had a great time!

No one was in danger at any time, heck, you were only in a foot or so of water.

$1800 tow bill? Your wife can do more damage than that in the Target parking lot!

Chalk it up to experience. Now you know the next time you go back to pack a lunch, and a 10,000 lb winch would be a good investment. You might also consider a 20 ft length of chain to wrap around a tree or rock in case the winch cable isn’t long enough to tie off.

Don’t let it scare you off, just be more prepared next time!

    Michael

  • Your wife now know that she has another child….Joel!!
    Texas can be unforgiving!
Best medicine on earth is when we can laugh at our selves!
    Peace!
    Pat

    • Hi Pat,
You are so right Joel and I laugh at ourselves all the time.
Keep it fun and real is better then any ADVIL!

Thanks for the post and have an awesome night!

      Mike

  • Greetings Joel:

I guarantee the only thing your bride will consider is a big laugh at your expense. And why not; all your doing is building memories. You, your kid(s), bride and friends will enjoy recalling this day for years to come.

As they say in this business wash, rinse and repeat; do another, maybe not so expensive next time.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Best regards,
    Frank

  • Mike said you should take a wench with you. I think he means winch. 🙂

    • Hi Rich,
      Mike here from Joel’s blog…
I did say wench actually. I get tongue tied at times and its
from sticking my tongue on a frozen fence post back in canada
when I was a kid. LOL Its all good Rich…my French doesn’t help
either. Wait until you see what I say next week! hehe

Thanks for the post and have an awesome night!

      Mike

  • Well big boys and there toys. Well one thing you should remember big boys have big toys and it pretty expensive when you break em.

    Keep having fun why not.

  • Hi Joel,

I saw it but couldn’t hear what was going on very well. The audio kept dropping out.

    Blessings,
    Paulette

  • Type your comment here. Joel Sorry to hear about your BAD day. THANK GOD you had the money and the support you did to get unstuck out of what could have been a real BAD experience. Hope you learned a valuable lesson and next time wont be so quick to take such expensive risk. Love your videos and your open honest communications…I found you and your company just a day ago and definitely want to talk with you about you hosting my online biz. I got many questions ? Have AWESOME weekend look forward to your blog next week.

Have an awesome week end as well!

      Mike

  • Hi Joel

Take Mike along next time. If he makes a bigger mess of things than you, then you can laugh back at him.

Ilona was probably mad because she only got the story second hand and it was probably exagerated by the kids into a major disaster.

Let her try and see how good she is at off road driving only have a hidden video camera so that we can all laugh at her mistakes as well.

    Richard

    • Hi Richard,
Mike here from Joel’s blog…I will stay away next time as well! It was
actually the total opposite. Joel and the kids down played it big time, hehe!
The Hummer was a disaster. The dealer has got the whole thing gutted
right out…carpet-seats-wires etc. Its just a shell!

Thanks for your post and have an awesome day!

      Mike

  • LOL…
Dang near did the same thing yesterday showing off to some visiting out of towners…came down to the bottom of a very steep muddy Texas hill and a very large tree had fallen across the path…no tow bill though cause I have a Land Rover instead of a Hummer 🙂

    • Hi Ski,
      Mike here from Joel’s blog…
Land Rover…now you have the right machine thats for sure. The tow
bill was high, however I had no part in this one. I do recall saying stupid
      at least 10 times!
Thanks for the post and have an awesome week end!

      Mike

  • Joel

Thanks for the laugh of the day!
Lesson learned, stay out of water!
    Nice Hummer, nice logo!

    Ilana, forgive him!
Something about boys and their toys, you know!

    Keep up the good work!

    Vikki

  • A costly day for a bit of back road fun. Maybe a standard tranny in the hummer would have helped eh!

    • Hi Walt,
      Mike here from Joel’s blog…
You are correct it was not a $100. day thats for sure…
This week end we are going to rent one and try it again! LOL
Thanks for the post and have an awesome day!

      Mike

  • Hi Joel,
You murdered that Hummer. Are you a closet Greenpeace Convert?:-)

  • Hey Joel, FRIDAY 13th was last week . O well better late than never.I think its time for a new HUMMER….. One with the submarine option… Thanks for letting me laugh with you….I been there and done it to, but never on video..Later, Brian

  • Dear Joel!
What can i say? It is very philosophy question….
Is it worth wasting time on useless persuasion, if your behavior and attitude to your wife stopped to convince her? Give your wife the freedom, calm down and relax. If she really loves you, she will not leave. And if she did leave, then there is no love and no need to keep a woman by force.
And in the end, the end of something ето the beginning of something new. I wish you good luck! Be happy andlove!
    Vera

    • Hi Vera,
      Mike here from Joel’s blog,
No need to worry all is good just Joel feels that i should have been there
so he could have blamed me…hehe

Thanks for the post and have an awesome day!

      Mike

  • Type your comment here.Hi Joel!
You wife name is Ilona? Thats great! Ilona is a Hungaryan name! I read this blog from Hungary….
And driving with Hummer, is also great!
Joel you know what is the life!

  • That was great! You guys are great! I must say, whenever I’m in a bad mood or having a bad day,I log in here and you guys always can make me leave with a smile…The video made me think back about 20 yrs ago, something we did…it was New Years Eve and after a night of having drinks and playing cards etc.,a friend,as she was leaving got stuck in the ditch out in front of my house, out march all the guys to help push her out,we finally pushed hard ( “all of us” ) and the car drove out, only problem was that we were all so busy helping push, that one of us forgot to get behind the wheel to steer the darn car !!!!

Thanks for my daily dose of fun, have a good weekend Joel,Mike and Ilona,I think you should forgive Mike too.

    • Hi Terese,
Its Mike here…Great story you see we all have something in common.
We are very happy that you enjoy our blogs. we enjoy doing them and
its very easy because it is who we are. No acting anything here!
You see I lucked out and I do not need anyone to forgive me because
I was not there. I stayed behind…and I am glad that I did hehe!
Its all about having fun, but this one was over the budget…
Thanks for the great post and have an awesome night!

      Mike

  • Hi Joel,

However he must make sure to bring a thicker wallet
next time. Its adding up by the day…I will purchase
      him a pair of floaties…

Thanks for the geat post and have an awesome week end!

      Mike

  • Glad you had a good time. Looking for to Monday have some questions.

    • Hey Sean,
Mike here from Joel’s blog. Come Monday fire the question off!
In regards to T-shirt we are ordering more hats and shirts.
i have not forgotten. I will keep you updated!

Thanks for the post, have an awesome night!

      Mike

  • I can see the difference between a handyman (Armando) and the brain man (Joel) when it comes down to physics Armando is better.
As for Iona, we never heard any comments from her. I call my wife the Minister of Finance when I go play and the cost get out of hands. And when I do foolish things. My wife expects me to be able to play as long as the cost is reasonable. I don’t believe Iona would go to the racetrack with Joel BMW. Let Iona drive the next time Joel.

  • Hey Joel,

Just remind Ilona, That it’s “For better or worse, until you get stuck shall we part.” LOL

I know, I know after a hard’s day’s work, one needs to get out of the office and have some fun. After all “all work and no play, gets you {Stuck} in the office.

Your excuse, can be, “but honey, we have these big and expensive vehicles laying about, I was just testing it to say what it will and won’t stand up to.” That should get you off the mud bank, I meant the “Hook”

It’s one way of building memories. Right?

    Live – Love and Laugh

  • Do Hummers come with a snorkel option?
When I served in Korea 35 years ago the Jeeps I drove had what they called a “fording kit” that included snorkels for the intake and the exhaust.

I’ve had the pleasure (?) of driving with water coming up just under my chin!

Still, you have to admit that in spite of the expense you ended up with a grandfatherly yarn of heirloom quality. I’ve got a feeling that Ilona had a hard time keeping the corners of her mouth down while she was scolding you.

In conclusion, two words: BIGGER TIRES!

(PS – Are you and/or Mike available to be featured guests on our internet radio program? We’d love to have you! Just let me know by email and we can set things up.)

    “Digital” Don

  • In our family we wold hve said you pulled a “peter”. My son-im-law actually drove into a river at flood satge and was surprised when his truck floated away. He had to swim and tie it to a tree then get help to drag it out. Took him over a month to fix it, then the next year, he did it again!
Ilona should forgive Joel because he could have done much worse.

  • Hi Joel, yeah good fun 4wd off road scrambling that’s for sure, Thing is, if you had a couple of dirt bikes in tow you could have left the hummer on dry land. Ha lol . Look on the bright side at worst could have been a waterfall as well. No your wife has every right to go heavy on you just because they can.
Boys with toys keeps us young. Oh by the way I overturned a 4wd now that was when I had to get a tow truck.
Ha Ha . Have a good weekend no hummer though. Bummer.

  • 80 hr. weeks to paid bill or maybe 100 hr. a weeks.
But I do sad it was a good job so what is next?

    George

    P.S. she love you

  • You know Joel, I’m inclined to vote thumbs down because of the kids, but then again it’s a good lesson about what not to try. Also, Illona wouldn’t take my advice anyway because it’s obvious she loves her guy too much to not forgive him.

Thanks for sharing your errors! Makes me feel better about mine.

    George

  • Hi everybody. Ilona here. I just couldn’t resist writing in. I remember vividly when Joel called me to tell me the “good news”. I was in the kitchen when the phone rang. I could see it was Joel calling so I answered “are you still alive?” lol. Then…silence on the other end. “Hun”, he says. “It ain’t good”. I was laughing and thinking “wow he is a good actor”. Then…. more silence. That was when I knew he was not joking around. I didn’t have the heart to be mad at him. He was already really mad at himself for doing it. My next question was “is everybody ok”? Thankfully, yes everybody was just fine.

I think it took me a full 24 hours before I had realised what exactly had happened. And yes, I will not lie, I was pretty upset later.

The lesson here is that it should be me driving next time LOL.

I love Joel with all of my heart. I could never be mad at him for long. Afterall, it is just an object. Mind you it is one of my favourite objects and at least my truck will be like brand new when I get it back next week 🙂

Thanks to all of you for listening.

  • If I was you Joel I would make my next purchase a winch before you try any of that stuff again…but hey, you had your KIOSK advertising above the line and that should help pay off the tow truck bill.

I’m sure Alona will forgive you.

  • You should get a real Hummer, instead of that Chevy Tahoe with a Hummer name badge on it.

Either that or get a real off road vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler or something along those lines.

I’m not hating, I’m just saying if you want to do proper off roading, you need a vehicle.

  • Joel I would tell you, it is yours.
Do watever you want as long as I don’t pay for your mistake.

  • Good stunt- best redneck survival video, I ever saw- Your wife has to love You!
O.K. my Mercedes Benz MB100 would not get splashed like Hummers do- ;-))
but Offroad Fans like to be crazy:-).
In Germany we do not have insurance for that case- government pays a 2,500 € check for retirement of the car- if You just buy a new one!
So go on – Jesus could walk on the water, Israel went through the Sea- so Kiosk did it – Bless U!

  • Great video and gutsy humor!

(Thanks, Mike, for forcing Joel to let himself be humiliated in front of the cyberspace auditorium crowd! LOL!)

I really have no doubt that Ilona will forgive you, Joel. Hey, she might even let you grab more humiliation by uploading the video on http://www.boggingvideos.com/ – or she might just make you watch to see how REAL boggers do it!

I know – so much to learn and so little time! (Now you know how most of us feel!)

    Kudos, anyway!

    Rob

  • Hi Joel and Mike,

Life is full of experiences. Joel obviously had one with a clear message “Always go prepared” or was it “stay with the ducks in the bath”.

Joking aside best to always take water / soft drinks with you and family (if with you) and some breakfast type bars etc – just in
case scenario. You never know whats going to happen.

Last week we had local traffic chaos due to some wackos that fire bombed some local railway lines with gas cannisters and then a loony was spotted running around with a machine gun. Short 25 minute journey took around 120 minutes instead. Go prepared regardless.

    Stay safe and take care

    Martin

Ps/ I always carry a baseball bat and a ball. We don’t even play the game……….

  • Now where is that email address for for Hummer sales?

I’ve been stuck a number of times myself but not in a Hummer.

Being involved in search and rescue – shame on you for not having some supplies with you!!

    Bob

  • Type your comment here. I really feel if you love each other you can overcome all problems so why don’t you just kiss and make up because that is usually the greatest x

  • Hey, Joel
    You trashed your wife’s Hummer.This
may have started as a fun day,but
once you hit that water, game over.
Now, I don’t think you suck, but you
did use very poor judgement. It could have ended much worse, if the Hummer had flipped over.If you were
my husband and did this to my car, things would be very tense at home. Get your wife a new Hummer, and when the other is repaired, that’s hers too:)

  • Hey Joel,
Great to see you out enjoying the outdoors. Off-roading is tricky at best. It is all about knowing your vehicles capabilities and the terrain you are driving through. Unless you had been there before, how would you know how deep the water was? That is why you do a recce first. And take supplies with you in case you get stuck! Like they say in the Army…..failing to plan is planning to fail. It wasn’t intentional so Ilona shouldn’t leave you…..THIS TIME!!! lol Take care, missing you both in Canada!

  • Joel,

I did the same thing in Canada, with a Military Hummer. It took a Tank retriever and a tow truck to get me out of the tundra and they got stuck too. Not laughing at ya but with ya, I have felt your pain. But mine did not cost me $1800 🙂

  • ROFL, yup you suck at off road driving.
Maybe you should let your wife rag the Ferari and film it.
    Now that should be fun.
