Have Fun Friday’s – Giving Back to a Charity

Hi Everyone,

I have to admit, "Have Fun Friday’s" blog are my favorites when we bust a gut in laughter.

But having fun comes in a variety of ways. In today’s Friday blog, we are having fun by giving back to Humanity.

So here is the situation 😀

Our neighbor here in our industrial park has been through the "ringer".. He is a wholesale art dealer who has over $150 000 dollars worth of art at wholesale cost.

He almost went into foreclosure.. but at the last minute sometime in the past week he was able to at least sell the property.

Now he has a 6000 sq foot warehouse FULL of original
art that he is willing to sell for literally Pennies on the dollar.

So here is what we want to do with your possible help.

We want to auction off all the paintings LIVE Hotconference.com style!

>> You will collect a 25% commission on the artwork..

>> 25% will go to a charity that we all agree we want to give to.

>> The last 25% or so will go to my neighbor so that he can get some of his bills paid off.

As you know, we are just about ready to release our new version of Hotconference.com to the public. We think that doing a LIVE art charity in Hotconference.com will do wonders for your affiliate exposure!

The first person to post on the blog today will get a REALLY beautiful original oil painting that you can see on our video blog. They will pay the measly shipping and handling of the painting.

  • did my previous comment get posted?

  • Being first is always a great thing. Being first at anything on the net is near impossible. Not making the attempt puts one behind the entire list of those that tried.

PS I have some ideas for the person with all the art if auction doesn’t empty the warehouse

  • This sounds like a very good idea!

  • How great for you guys to do this! I would like the painting.

  • joel and Mike, I thank that this is great idea and look forward to helping your. I understand a lot of things that happen when people go into foreclosure. That is my business model and that is helping people in foreclosure. Helping people is the focus of my business model. Thanks for sharing with us today.

  • Awesome Joel… great idea… I’ll be there.

  • Awesome Joel…. count me in I’ll be bidding

  • What can I do to assist you?

  • I think having an auction in HotConference as a way to go live is an EXCELLENT idea. What a great way to bring people in that may not normally be in this situation. And being able to help your neighbor in the process…. WOW!

  • Hi Joel,

Those paintings are beautiful and what you guys are doing for your neighbor is wonderful.

    Keep up the good work.

    Duane

  • Wow! count me in!

  • Hi guys
I saw the painting but I only like color so you can give it to the next guy or gal.

    Thanks again!

    Paul

  • Great idea!
Looking forward to see the paintings…

  • A great way to have fun is helping someone in need.

  • Hey Joel, thanks for showing the business world the simple example of stopping what we’re doing to help someone else in need. The true crux of the matter is that if we all adopted the same attitude we’d all be asking the question “Recession? What recession?!” The fact is that God is never unemployed, nor is he ever redundant, which is a lesson we could all take to heart. Thanks again for this example, you’ll be blessed many many times over … DeeGee

  • How guys I tried to post here twice.

The videos are good and you are supporting a good cause

  • A Total class Act you guys!

  • Great idea! when will the auction be?

  • Congratulations guys, what a great way to help your neighbour and charity at the same time. Kudo’s!
    All the best,
    Adrian

  • I am interested in helping out with the art auction. Please send me details.

  • Joel and Mike,

It certainly is challenging times for a lot of folks in this economy. I think it’s terrific of you guys to help your neighbor out like this and turn it into a win win for the community, your neighbor and us (your affiliates) was equally awesome. That’s the kind of out of the box thinking we all need to have.

  • I think I posted already from work but don’t see it here. Are the posts going on to the blog? Hey your friend might want to try some of the hotels and stuff in the area, see if they want to update their art, if he doesn’t mind making a few calls.

Get a video on a page for people to like register for ,a capture page with a form to fill out for me and I’ll start right away. I am an “EVP” member,so doing that will get me an additions to my small list I’ve got started with EVP.

Okay,I’ll be waiting to here from you and send me that so I can get people registered for the event.

    Have a nice weekend!

    ps: Beautiful artwork!

  • Fantastic Idea. How can I help? Can I promote a web site in my traffic exchanges ? If you can provide me a splash page – I’ll surf the heck out of it.

Alternatively – if I can help in the online auction process – let me know when and where and how and I’m there.

Thanks for the opportunity to help and Best of Luck in this venture.

    Linda Ley

ps – the artwork is fabulous. I love the European Scenes – Absolutely Awesome!

  • WoW ! Awesome idea guys, My wife and I are going thru some rough times with her going on a Kidney Transplant list, starting that long process. I wish we had friends like that sometimes that would go the extra mile for us.
It’s great that you are caring enough about your friends and business associates to make an effort to help. More people should be compassionate enough to help their fellow man and make this world a better place.

    Bob

  • Sure not the first. I found my copy of blog in the spam file. I thnk it is a great idea to help a neighbor. Keep us informed on dates and location.
    Thanks Dallas

  • I’m not the first one in so, I live on the west coast by the Fraser river. How much for the boat?

  • I see Mike has already posted. Fair is fair. This is wonderful that you are willing to help your neighbor. I have another project that I would like your help on down the road. It involves a gift that a client gave me. I want to market them but know it would be better done through your contacts than mine, which are limited and local.

  • Nice try Mike, but you should probably be exempt from entering the contest.

Reason prior knowledge & ties to the company!

Pretty standard in business practices today.

  • Well I’m a big fan of original art.
But mostly what you guys (Joel and Mike) are doing is a very grand thing to help this bloke out.

    Cheers
    Tim

  • Ok, now I was maybe lucky enough to be considered the first one to make a post. Seeing as how Mike stated he was only kidding to begin with.

To be honest the reason I made the post is because it was the first thing that came to my mind and figured I would put in my two cents!

    Why? Just because I could!

I don’t usually post much, but this time I could not resist!

I wanted to take the opportunity to say that I think helping the person out is a fantastic thing to do and I support the idea 100%!

If I turn out to be the lucky winner, I would like to donate the picture and have it placed into the auction. The proceeds going right back to the person we are trying to help to begin with!

I too hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Love the Fun Fridays Great Artwork though opening Saturday Morning Eh we’re still #1 in Thinking gee 72 in front of Us

Great to see giving back to the Community and Yeah an Art Show down by the Waterways by Town Plaza would be awesome San Antonio is truely an Arts Promoting Town … Talking a Blend of Old and New would definitely be Social Media Event and News worthy

Only thing bad about Fun Friday was mention of Houston even 3 1/2 hours is to close LOL try driving a 33 foot Motorhome through Evening Rush Hour Traffic and will find why California People say You Mean LA Southwest should have taken the Loop Around before hit there!

BTW Texas and Texas People don’t get us wrong are the Best People in the World … Love the “How Can We Help You!” attitude
