Ever since starting our hosting company we get DAILY requests for customized web design..
And well..
I have ALWAYS said NO WAY..
You would think I am crazy since web design is so complimentary to our existing hosting and VoIP business..
Why have I always said NO WAY..
Honestly, it is because rarely do people really know what they want.
So you design a site for them.. then the worst happens
Remember.. I’m just being HONEST..
The person you design the site for.. asks for their opinions from every single family member they have..
DRAMATIZATION….
Their uncle does not like the blue..
Their sister hates the header..
Their co worker thinks he does not like his picture..
So what happens is one web site ends up taking weeks based on everyone else’s opinions..
There is no profit..
The end clients is frustrated..
But..
Every day.. we get at least 4 to 10 requests for customized design..
So after some heavy consideration, I really want to try it.
IF WE CAN MAKE THIS AN AMAZING SYSTEM
Then not only will we do custom design for all of you..
I would LOVE to add it as a commission able product where YOU can MAKE MONEY from custom web design!

Seriously no comments or am I just not seeing them? I’m interested and it seems like a good idea but exactly what are you asking for us to do and what do you mean by the first 10 people? What do they get?
Hi Joel, I would be interested in a great lead capture page. I am half way through a web design course and we haven’t gotten to the video part yet. either way having a well done and attractive lead in page is very important.

Sounds like a great idea … count me in! Video is so important today, and I honestly believe it is only going to become more so. I just hope the big corporations don’t take over the net and we have 24/7 constant commercials!!!! I like the fact that they can’t quite get their finger on how to make it work 🙂 diabolical I know.

Systemizing is always good, having choices raises awareness to options not thought of and my reaction to your dramatization would be “if you contract to this and do not like it, rewrite another contract”.
I am remembering the offer you did with the blog creation. I picked from the bunch and then later I wanted to add a widget,..hmmm that was not set up to handle widgets. Hey, that was my bad, should have thought of it, but wait, they could be added – don’t know how! – now maybe GVO can, and for a nice price too 🙂 .
I am looking at $50 and $30 prices now. That is working with established templates. Duplication is SEO death with google to a website.
You are talking to one design though so I want to see if you are going to limit “what” you do because you have stirred up my hunger for a programmer I can know and trust.

OK here’s my view as someone been around for a while. Most if not all systems [inc video] are realsed incomplete. This sort of half thought through process causes a lot of frustration, irritation and eventually anger towards to perpetrator.
So YES i would buy-in on the premise that its done “best-of-breed” with proper support and 100% scalable.
Its very important that when changes occur in the market [now regular occurrance] it can be swiftly applied to all site elements esp site builders. What this means is that the boring techy stuff is handled by the system a.m.a.poss BUT that when one NEEDS to go under the hood its quick & easy [bit like SBI etc].
If you can wrap this all up in a great user interface that handles the the process well you are onto a HUGE winner!

i would lvoe the opportunity to give away free websites that are easily modified without using code so the average person could build their own site and resell them hosting fees for giving them the free website.
There are millions of small businesses out there who need a website but are afraid of how to go about it, and rightly so; but if you could show them a simple system and how to monetize it, I beleive you could add value and create revenue with either the hosting or adding other monetization modules.

Oh Yes Joel- custumizing websites for solicitors can be very time intensive and never ever it is paid 100% on what You do – even if You make it in Your eyes to be perfect.
