What happened yesterday at GVO!!

Hey Everyone

Sorry for the GVO issues, it is a real shame that one person has to abuse our Eresponder Pro and cause issues for ALL members 🙁

Yep.. some brainless person uploaded 6 million emails to our responder bringing us to a crawl on Wednesday and because of all the spam complaints got our domain GoGVO.com suspended yesterday!!

The domain is now unsuspended, and 80% of the world can now see the site. If you can NOT see it do not worry it will come back soon for you too. When a domain is reactivated, it takes time for all the Internet Service Providers to be able to see the site again.

As an example, I still can not see the site from my home, but I can get it fine on my iPhone.

I truly apologize for this issue, it will not happen again as we have put in safety precautions to make sure it does not happen again. As for the spammer, he is no longer a client 😀

Have a great weekend!!

  • WISH LIST:

A downline chart that shows a format that makes sense so we know where we stand. The current downline listing is convoluted and confusing.

    Thanks!

  • Hey Joel,
    You are Awesome.
    Quick recovery and
    good communication.
    GVO Rules!

  • Hi Joel

Thank you for the update .Could you please pass on my thanks to your Tec Support Guys and Girls in Hot Conference they where first class as normal.

My Members who are mostly new to online marketing actually commented on why I recommended Kiosk/GVO in the first instance. Top Class Guys

    Many Many Thanks

    Mark

  • Thanks for your usual honesty and straight-forward up-front communication with us all … it is truly appreciated and will be returned to you ten-fold.

Your best comment of all was “Have a wonderful weekend and spend some time with your family”. That is exactly what I will be doing.

  • Joe,

Thanks for keeping us informed and staying on top of things. Incredible that all it takes is one, yet having been an Internet Service Provider for years, I feel your pain and know what one bad apple can cause. But with the great technical team at GVO, things were resolved quickly. I have seen other services, who couldn’t prove their legitimacy, take weeks and even months to come back up. This really shows the integrity of your system and team. Character is not necessarily shown by the troubles along the way, but how one responds to them.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks Joel for the update and swift action to prevent this from happening again. If something like this had to happen, I’m glad it happened during this phase of our launch.

It’s refreshing to deal with such an open and transparent organization! 🙂

    All the Best,

  • Thanks for the news.We appreciate
    that.Have a great day

  • Is the autoresponder is working now..

Thanks for telling it Joel I was just about to buy lead.

    You save me…

    Thanks
    Alam

  • On Eresponder, I would love the ability to track clicks automatically, post emails to ping.fm and RSS feed. The ability to edit broadcasts that have been previously sent would be nice, along with a trigger button to push after you have verified that the broadcast is correct (after testing) and it is able to be sent…

Also, I would love the ability to choose more than one profit center to send my spillover to in rotation. So if I have three new recruits I want to place people under, I could select them and the system would place my spillover in each in succession.

Thanks so much, guys, for the hard work you do.

    Have an amazing day!

  • Wow, what an idiot. I don’t understand why people bother buying leads. Isn’t it common knowledge that they are useless and will only result in getting shut down for spam? Good example of someone taking a short cut and getting nowhere instead of just taking the time to build his own responsive list.

Thanks for the update Joel. I was wondering what could happen to shut down a business like yours. Hope that fool doesn’t just signup again under a different name.

    Keep up the good work.

  • You guys are great. To have things up and running so fast after such a huge problem … and then to simply lay it out honestly to everyone … that’s class. Thanks so much.

WISH LIST: In the eResponder. Currently if I have a list I’ve begun to populate that has no follow up messages in it, if I do go and put in some follow ups, the people already in the list will not receive them. It would be better if everyone got the messages they had not yet received as those messages are entered … that way I can write my series a bit at a time and don’t have to compose a whole list of emails at once. … Just a thought.

    Thanks again!

  • hey
it just wouldn’t be prudent if everything went perfectly. no challenge. Well done for moving so quickley.

  • Hey Joel,

Thanks for the update and I’m glad everything worked out! As a GVO Leader I would like to see the GVO Conference Room have more seats. If you can supply us with an option to upgrade. That would be great.

  • Easy does it guy!

Thanks for the update. It’s amazing what some folks try do to ‘misuse’ the system!

    • Hi Bob yes there is always someone
that pushes the edge and tries to
      wreck it for everyone else.
Thing have been taken care of and all
      is good my friend!

      Thanks for the post,

      Mike

  • Hi Joel,
Do you know which is the maximum of suscribers you can import in Aweber?
    Just 2.000 each day!
So, allowing 20.000 shouldn´t it be excesive?
    Regards,
    Luis

  • Hi Joel,

I know a lot of companies that would have fed us a load of rubbish and kept us in the dark. But you tell it how it is and your support guys were quick to respond in spite of the overload they must have been under.

We appreciate your honesty, openness and your clear passion to bring us the best possible services – and service – around.

    • Thanks for the great post Dave…
You are correct we never leave
anything unopen. We tell it as it
is. We have always been like that
      and will never change.

Thanks again and have a great day!

      Mike

  • Hey Joel,
Could have been worse. All 6,000,000 could have signed up and Mike P may have done a real runner, with his bonus!!!
    Thanks for keeping us informed.
The 2 people under this guy must be disappointment. They would have had 3.000,000 each with the spillover.I will be awake all night wondering if this dummy was in my downline or upline.
Now he is in No Line.
    Thanks for the update
    Cheers
    Don

  • Hey Joel,

Regrettably all of us are not immune against such cerebric amputees.
But that’s smashing how fast you could master this impact.

    Congratulation!

  • Hey Joel , thanks for th eupdates! MY WISH LIST is to stay with GVO but somethings do pop up from time to time like members buying with stoln CCs, yup thats what happened to me so my SEO site is on temp suspended, looing for new ways to generate income now. Hows that for negitivity? 3 years shot down the tubes. Why? cuzz people want things the easy way. It taks time and effort and especially patience and honesty , i have no credibilty anymore. but rule 1. Never give up. Rule 2. Always do your best and rule number 3 be friends with Joel and Mike lol. Love ya guys talk soon. – Thomas

  • Hi,

6 million emails…that’s not right at all…98% were most likely: Yahoo & Hotmail….

    Not worth 55.00….

Glad everything is back up and working…thanks for quick response.

    Peace!

  • Hi Joel,
You have a great product but some of us may be a little over whelmed with all the benefits and features. The instructional videos are great but if there was an entire summary telling about all the GVO benefits and features like a brochure so to speak. I think it would help people figure out how to put it all together and make optimal use of it. There are so many different features just a simple this is how everything works white paper.

  • Hi Joel
Thank you for letting me know.
Is GVO Acadamy available in archive? If not add that to my wish list. I work 2 jobs and am unable to hook up with most of the webinar times. Also I was planning a big campaign for next week please assure me that I won’t have any trouble sending leads to the site.
    Thanks again William (Bill) Pishlo

  • Hello Joel, I am extremely glad, your back in business!

I imagine your transferring your domain registration a.s.a.p!

  • Reporting honestly with the details on the site shut down is greatly appreciated, and what a quick recovery…

Thanks for not making us have to wonder what’s going on.

    All The Best Joel

    Sincerely,

    Vince Coleman

  • Hi Joel,

Awesome job on the quick recovery and immediate response to the situation.

    GVO Rocks!

    THANKS!

  • I echo some of the other comments concerning your “straight up” honesty.
    Thanks for that demeanor.

I concur with Joel Canepa, Comment #1, about a downline chart format that is not “convoluted and confusing”.
    That would certainly be swell.

    Thanks,

    El Denton

  • this is the reason i have been a fanatic member of kiosk/gvo joel, mike and their entire team are the most customer oriented on line and i agree the training at gvo academy it will give all the knowledge to become a pro in what ever you are promoting.
as a 9 year member i have seen alot and they are always giving us the best tools and training.
their are several improvements listed i like
1 the ability to choose more than one profit center
2 GVO benefits and features like a brochure
3 On Eresponder, I would love the ability to track clicks automatically, post emails to ping.fm and RSS feed.

    thanks again

ps. could mike give me a call

  • Hi Joel, Mike and team
GoGVO is still one of the best even if a non-thinking person created an issue for most members. Happy that you have taken the necessary precautions to prevent any more occurrences.

    WTG GVO!

  • It would have been good business to let your paying customers know. I have been in contact with support for the last two days and all I got was it is fixed, try it again.

You let someone upload 6 million leads and I can’t even get a couple of thousand GetResponse leads upload as active. I uploaded the leads and all I got to re-confirm is a couple of hundred.

  • Hi Joel,
this guy imported 6 million leads… hey, I would be happy I could import my some 2k 2×2 leads I got while I was in their program, but left meanwhile. Unfortunately haven’t found a way to import anything, probably I’m an idiot. Have been following your video but cannot make it yet. Could it be I’m a Mac-User or is it a browser issue? Or could it be I’m living here in Munich/Germany? Have no idea. Probably I better give Aaron an email.
Keep up your awesome work, Peter

  • It was very unfortunate for the other members. It is definately an act of extreme selfishness. He deserve to be thrown out.

  • Hi – My wishlist is for a “Camtasia” style of application (but easier) to enable video creation with screenshots etc.

    Regards – Graham

p.s. Anything that doesn’t kill us cannot harm us 🙂

  • Hi Joel,
I felt sad over people like that. Be GOD blessed You & Team for the Great Work in the way GOD’s guidance. Keep up the strong work & progress well.
    I am GVO I am.

  • Hello Joel,
Incredible quick recovery and thank you for being so honest. Honesty seems to be a rare quality on the net.
Thank you for being an awesome group of hard working people.

  • Hi Joel,

I’m not go against the decision but please consider this. Terminate him without first given any warning is not a good idea. If you stick to the decision, we all at risk of being terminate by a single mistake we make, am I right?

Spamming is not tolerable but the way I see it, it is not his fault of doing it beacuse it is not mentioned early and Eresponder Pro doesn’t state the maximum leads can be uploaded. He is doing what he has to do. If he have 10 million leads at that time I think he will upload it too because there is no limit.

All I can say is, give him one more chance and i’m sure he will not do the same mistake again 🙂

    Regards,
    Tim.

  • Wish List:

A GVO General Quick Over-View Video that we can use on our personal websites and blogs.

    Thanks Guys!

    Kind Regards,

  • Joel,

Even 20,000 is too many. Other than real-time leads being plugged in as they fill in an opt-in form, nobody should be able to upload more than 500 people or so at a time.

Even if they have a list in Aweber of 10K, they’d be able to upload their entire list within a few weeks.

Just my opinion. No legitimate marketer would attempt a list of 20K. I know that with even a good list of 1,000 double opt-in leads would contain a LOT of bouncing addresses.

  • My wish list is an auto responder form, where we can fill in the hex code to colour match our sites,
and add a few words relevant to our offers! In the form.
    Thanks Sean.

  • That sucks that that happened but quick question – understanding how companies end up on spam lists, how does this impact our IPs for our domains with you guys?
