The site is up and running, we’ve just added member benefits including a PLR product made up 9,000 PLR articles that members can edit and use and sell on their own site(s), 1,500 marketing strategies PLR (ideas), and various software downloads.
Part of my problem is: lack of time. I know that sounds like a cop out, but it’s true. Until recently, most of my time was taken up handling web and IT issues for 3 or 4 core clients. However, I’m poised to cut that down to 1 client soon so that I can focus more fully on InternetTIPS.com marketing.
To answer your point 3 above, almost daily, I find quicker, easier ways to get things done.
Also, we use the Joomla web Content Management System to power InternetTIPS.com (plus of course through Kiosk.ws hosting – where else? You folks rock! 🙂 The one key thing I’ve found about Joomla is: once up and running on a web design you like, it’s fantastic, however, for most folks, set-up can be notoriously complex and tricky. So I guess that’s one area ripe for development.
However, maybe we’re covering too much. Maybe we should niche down to one key area.
Although I have my own ideas on how to market the site more strongly, other folks can look at our site with an unbiased, fresh eye, so always, thanks to anyone for commentary, good or bad (I can take it 🙂

One thing that I have noticed is USP’s. They are
very, very important. Like I said before what catches
your eye’s is key. This is no different then going
through a bookstore. How many titles do you go through

I bought into an offer by a “guru”. It cost me $1500 and I was not very impressed with the end result.
I was being lazy and had him create something from scratch using his expertise. I know nothing about the product, nor am I in a position to learn it since I live in Germany.
After letting him know what I thought like making it an affiliate product and the fact that I cannot remember the domain name he did refund me $458 of my funds.

Obviously we are selling access to our database of various ways to make a bit of extra cash online, ranging from the old mainstay of ‘paid surveys’ to other programs to advice on how to make ones own website yourself.
It seems we’ve wedged our way into an already pretty crowded market. We didn’t know just how crowded when we started. I think we’re unique however in the fact that, let’s face it, there are alot of scams and quasi-scams in the line of websites that we’re in. We’re blatantly NOT one of them. Everything we say on our pages is true, and we’re manned by people who know about our topic very well and have expereinced it first hand, and we would like to see our customers be successful.
We’re also unique in that we offer much much more actual content than sites of similar subject and price.
Maybe there are more ways we can be unique…maybe you have suggestions.
We have given away a few memberships to get reviews and such, but so far business seems to be a trickle. I’d really like a better Google ranking, and we still need help when it comes to marketing and getting noticed and such. Sometimes I feel like if I could just get the ball rolling a little better things would progress.
I’m still pretty happy with what I’ve done so far, considering that I designed and created the whole thing from complete scratch as a total beginner. The site looks visually lush, imo, but i dont ever want to see a piece of HTML or PHP code again!

I’m working on my site CentralFlorida411.com using the Memberspeed script I purchased last year. I am trying to create an advertising, information, and social network in the Central Florida area.
I think the idea spawned from your info Gatineau site and then I saw another person create Town Portal Sites. I think I may have to redefine my USP and also limit the focus of the site.
My idea is to make Centralflorida411.com a purely advertising site where business can provide their information and get a listing for FREE. Upgraded listings will only cost $5 per month and businesses will be able to get a clickable link to their site and offer specials to all our members.
I have a site called http://www.centralfloridafriends.com which I will use for the social aspect of this network.
The article Directory ,videos, and audios, etc would be removed from the site so I could highlight the Product Manager and Directory. My USP will be that members can place their own ads through the product manager and make special offers to all members if they are an upgraded member.

I have the internet-retirement-system.com, and even though it currently emphasizes residual and affiliate sales, I am in the process of revamping it to include web site services and hosting sales to mom and pop small businesses in my local area. The premise is that nobody looks in the phone bok hardly anymore – they go directly online for the service they are looking for, and these small businesses have to be online with an internet presence to move forward in their business.
This is a fairly large untapped area, and one I feel holds tremendous promise.
Not only would I provide a web building and basic SEO service for a one time fee, but I would also promote Kiosk.WS as their hostng service, and an autoresponder company to capture opt-in information through my affiliate links. Built in residual income.
